Our Favourite Things To Do In Vancouver

A guide to some of our top places to visit, fun things to do and ways to get the most out of your time in Vancouver Downtown and surrounding areas.

Granville Island Market

Public Market, Great Restaurants, Brewery, comedy clubs and live music. You can also hire jet skis and boats for day trips from here. Oh and it's just a cute Aqua Bus ride away from downtown.

GrouseMountain.jpg

Grouse Mountain

One of the local mountains, offering a Lumberjack Show, Zip Lining, Bears, Bird Show and much more. You can even choose to tackle the Grouse Grind Challenge to get up to the top; WARNING not for the faint hearted, they don't call it a challenge for nothing!

DeepCove.jpg

Deep Cove

Kayak, Paddle Board and Canoe rentals with great hikes around the cove - all in a beautiful setting.

Local Hikes

In less than an hour's drive there are a whole bunch of incredible hikes to explore, and for all ranges of ability too.

Seaplane Tours

Take a flight leaving from Coal Harbor around the city, giving you incredible views of the mountains and out to the islands. Prices range depending on how long you want to be up in the air.

Whistler Village

Great place to visit even when the hills aren't covered in snow. Shops, restaurants, hikes, lakes and more. There is also the Peak To Peak gondola for those of you with a head for heights.

Capilano Bridge

A great place to spend an afternoon amongst the trees. A lot more than just a really cool suspension bridge; you can learn a bit about BC First Nations, take a cliff walk, or just enjoy the treetop adventure.

Baseball

A great evening out pretending to be Canadian; including foot long hot dogs and half time shenanigans.

Whale Watching

Highly recommended by the guests we've had to stay. Although sightings aren't guaranteed, all of our guests have had incredible experiences. Allow a full day and an early start. They can pick you up from a few downtown locations.

Stanley Park

A beautiful park by the same designer as New York's Central Park. Plenty to do for an afternoon/day depending on your pace. Take a picnic, stroll the many wooded paths that will make you feel like you're a million miles out of the city.

Bike Hire

We love to explore on 2 wheels and with lots of designated cycle lanes and the sea wall, its a safe way to get out and about. Be sure to lock up your bikes as cycle theft is common.

Boat/ Jet Ski Rental

Hiring a speedboat was a great way to spend an afternoon and see the city from the water, we took it for 4 hours and went up the Indian Arm. All you need is a UK driving license. Jet-Ski's/Seadoo's were super fun too.

River of Golden Dreams

If you only have time or $$ for 1 activity in Whistler, this is our #1. A beautiful route to kayak/canoe, nice and easy and you might see some wildlife too.

DeepCove.jpg

Scandinave Spa

A beautiful outdoor spa, plenty of hot pools, sauna's, steam rooms, lounging areas and the best massages too. Be warned though, this is a spa where silence is enforced, but you will be all the better for it afterwards.

Howe Sound Brewery

Make a pit stop here on your way back from Whistler, a great selection of larger and ales and some fair pub food too.
